Awesafe Gun Safe With Fingerprint Identification And Biometric Lock - Two Handgun Capacity (Upgraded Size)

Highlight: Upgraded fingerprint scanner.

Helpful review: "I spent several hours reading reviews of different gun safes on multiple web sites before selecting the Awsafe's 2 gun safe. There are many good safes out there but the Awsafe meet my criteria for sturdiness, fingerprint reader with backup, physical size and price. Bottom line, for the price you can't go wrong. The safe easily fits my full size 9MM and my 380 along with 2 mags. At only 3" high I can fit it in a drawer. It does need to sit back in the drawer in order to use the fingerprint reader and key. The doors opens smoothly with the gas cylinder but the unlock sound could be quieter. Also, you have to push down hard to engage the lock. What I really like is that the set up button is located inside behind the battery box and the lock mechanism is well protected so destruction is the only way in. Other safes had flaws that would allow access to one or the other thus making entry easier. Set-up was very simple and, taking my time, had it dune in a half hour. The only issue I had was that the instructions call for a 4 number code but don't discuss pressing 2 numbers at the same time. If you press 2 numbers at the same time that counts as 2 numbers. Not big deal but would have saved me a couple tries. The fingerprint reader, once set up, works great as long as your finger is in the same spot. Overall, it's not Fort Knox but then again none of them are. I believe it will keep my guns reasonable safe and that's as what counts." — Dave

Trending review: "Having been in law enforcement for the past 34 years and having handguns at the ready since then is second nature. With today's technology in safes I began surfing for an effective alternative that would provide quick access, multiple options to open it, and a key or non electronic option. The Awesafe Gun Safe with fingerprint reader and numerical code checks all boxes for me. Understand the fingerprint reader is precise which means you must have your finger on the reader exactly the same way for it to read and open it. This can be challenging but with practice you can minimize the declined attempts. Having a second option with a numerical code along with a key gives you three ways to open the safe and piece of mind that you can get it open. Once open, there is a small blue light that illuminates the contents. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a flat, small profile safe at your bedside, office, RV or anywhere you need quick access to a handgun or other protection device." — Johnny H.

Awesafe Gun Safe With Fingerprint Identification And Biometric Lock - Two Handgun Capacity (Upgraded Size)

Reassuring review: "I purchased the larger safe suitable for 2 pistols. The first thing I noticed was the weight of the packaging. This thing is very solidly built. It is supplied with clear, comprehensive instructions, and setting up the lock features was pretty easy. I did have some trouble initially in setting up the biometric reader, but found that it needed firm, steady presses to get the fingerprints to read. Same when unlocking it. Regardless of how you unlock the safe, the door opens with authority, pushed up by the little gas-strut. It reveals an LED-lit compartment (this unit does require four AA batteries, which were supplied - nice touch). The storage is adequate rather than generous. It does hold a pair of Glocks, and four magazines, but because of the depth of the cavity, will not hold much else, unless it’s flat. So money and passports would work. All in all, my first impressions are that I’m very happy with the safe, it lives up to its reviews, and is great value. Recommended!" — Objective Dude

Awesafe Gun Safe With Fingerprint Identification And Biometric Lock - Two Handgun Capacity (Upgraded Size)

Most-discussed review: "A safe like this is all about utility, and this Awesafe does a great job with ease-of-use, size and safety. My method of choice for access is the fingerprint detector, which picks up my index finger just about every time (YMMV with fat thumbs). The physical keys are there in case the batteries run out, and frankly I don't know where to put those keys, in another safe? The code is my least favorite feature, a patient child could guess all 4-digit combinations of 4 numbers in an hour, but it is easy to de-activate the code feature. As far as size, I purchased this safe to have a little room to grow. Right now I could add small valuables or passports, but I measured this out and I am pretty sure I could double what I have in there now, and fit two large pistols, 4 mags (they can be stacked two high). I can't speak too much about durability because I don't want to test trying to break into it. I am planning to mount it on my night-stand with the provided screws. Really this safe is more about protecting it from unwanted access like kids. If a thief breaks in while nobody is home, they can probably take the safe and work on it with power tools somewhere. I'd want a bigger safe mounted more securely to the building to protect against that, but it would cost a lot more, and I like knowing I could easily move this one." — ChiTownDon

Awesafe Gun Safe With Fingerprint Identification And Biometric Lock - Two Handgun Capacity (Upgraded Size)

Updated review: "This is my third purchase of an awesafe handgun safe. My first two were single gun versions, and the third was the 2-gun capacity safe. The safes are well made, and can be opened with a biometric finger scanner, a 4-digit code, or one of the 2 supplied keys. Until you program in the 4-digit code or a finger print scan, the scanner allows any finger print to open the safe, so you need to program something in first in order to provide proper security protection. But the codes and finger print scans work well, as designed, and the manual provides clear instructions as to how to program the codes and the finger prints. The finger print scanner can be somewhat unforgiving occasionally, but is usually reliable. The 4-digit codes work perfectly all the time. An added benefit of the awesafe is that it has an interior soft blue light so you can see the contents in the dark, but not too bright that it would “light up the room”. The safe comes with the four AA batteries necessary to power it, and I like the fact that it has a warning light when the batteries need to be replaced. Since all my safes are all fairly new (less than a year old in all cases), I haven't seen that feature in action yet as I’m still on the original sets of batteries. All in all, these are quality safes that are very reasonably priced for the value. I can recommend them without reservation." — S. Dickinson

Awesafe Gun Safe With Fingerprint Identification And Biometric Lock - Two Handgun Capacity (Upgraded Size)

Well-received review: "I looked at numerous safes, and chose this for its capacity, design of the lid popping open, and multiple entry methods (key, code, fingerprint). Also... it featured on an Avengers/Marvel movie, for any fans out there. Set up is pretty easy. I was a little concerned about other reviews saying any finger could open it, and at first this proved correct. But I reset it for myself and my fiancé, and now it only works for our respective fingers. You really do have to place your finger on the scan pad in the right place as the initial scan to store it, or it won't open. Overall very happy with it and feel secure that I have quick access to a firearm while also keeping items safe from misuse. Would recommend for those exploring safes." — William C.
Favorite review: "I'm a first time gun buyer with a two year old and so I wanted a safe that's reliable and with a fingerprint lock. It took me a second to figure out how to set up the fingerprint and key pad locks. I thought you could utilize the key pad and fingerprint at the same time but it seems like you can only use one at a time. I like it better that way. The only way I want it to open is with a fingerprint recognition and with a key. I let my two year old try to open it (my gun hasn't arrived yet so there is nothing in there) and it works. It's solid and has a good weight to it. You can feel the quality. The blue light is a nice bonus. Makes you feel like James Bond a little bit not going to lie! I'm glad I bought it. If anything changes I'll let you know! Tip: Put in multiple finger prints from different angles. It's less likely you'll need multiple tries to open." — Jeff Munive
