Why You Should Visit Abu Dhabi In 2023

Without a doubt, Abu Dhabi is the place to be. From its rich and diverse history to its appeal to those who crave a little adventure, you and your friends will undoubtedly have a blast when you make this your destination for your next vacay!

If you’ve been thinking about calling up somebody to plan your next big trip together, but you’re still kind of stumped on where to go, why not take a closer look at Abu Dhabi? This dazzling city is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and is not only the home to seemingly-endless things to do and see, but it also exudes class and opulence, too. Even if you’ve never heard of it before, you’ll be falling in love with it by the time you’re done perusing these incredible points of interest that can only be found within Abu Dhabi’s city limits.

1. The Saadiyat Cultural District

Let us warn you right now: if you’re going to pop into the Saadiyat Cultural District, plan on spending more than just one day there. Otherwise, you’re going to miss out on so many hidden treasures ensconced away in this region. If you’re a fan of art and architecture, you’re going to love the museums found there. The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a marriage of both French and local culture, and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a testament to the designs of Frank Gehry. You don’t want to miss out on the Zayed National Museum, either, which divulges the history of the area.

2. The Heritage Village

There’s a common misconception that Abu Dhabi is nothing but extreme wealth and lofty lifestyles. While that certainly is one facet of this glamorous side of the world, it’s so much more than that. If you want to transport yourself back in time and fully immerse yourself into the lifestyle of Abu Dhabi before it was modernized, the Heritage Village is worth exploring further. Take your time to really explore this pocket of culture and watch as artisans blow glass into masterpieces, weave traditional garments on an actual loom, and prepare exquisite street fare right before your eyes. Sure, the glitz and glamor of Abu Dhabi is a major draw of this area, but it’s still important to remember the roots of this city when you tour the Heritage Village.

3. The Abu Dhabi Marina

You may be wondering why you’d want to visit a marina while in Abu Dhabi. Isn’t that just a place for people to store their boats? Oh yes, it’s so much more than that, too. The waterways are filled to the brim with luxurious yachts, but don’t let them hold your attention for too long. You’ll also want to spend some time strolling along the Marina Walk, too. When you’re done walking, make sure you check out the Marina Eye Ferris wheel, the skate park, and the bowling alley. If you get peckish while there, grab a bite in one of the many delicious restaurants lining the Marina Walk!

4. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

When you drive around your neighborhood at home, you’re probably the very picture of safe driving in your fuel-efficient little car. But over here in Abu Dhabi? You can live out your fantasies of being an F1 race car driver. Set aside some time to visit the Yas Marina Circuit to either watch the annual race that takes place here, or feel the thrill of doing a few laps around the track yourself by scoring some tickets to the driving experience. You and your besties will never want to go back to driving your Prius after settling behind the wheel of an Aston Martin GT4 at the Grand Prix!

5. Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

When it comes to theme parks, Abu Dhabi knows what’s up. Sure, you could fight the overcrowding at the park that is headed by the mouse, but why fuss with it when you could be seeing all of your favorite Looney Toons characters all in one spot? Warner Bros. World isn’t just an amazing theme park for people of all ages, it’s also a trip down memory lane. Say hi to Bugs Bunny and Tweety Bird between rides, and be sure to ask Fred Flintstone for his autograph while you’re there, too!
