Savior Equipment Rifle Bag: Reviewed By A Certified Hunting Guide

I finally put this rifle bag to the test. I had an old one, and this American Classic model is definitely an upgrade. Here's my hands-on review.

HIGHLIGHT:

Holds two scoped rifles, two pistols, and everything that goes with them.

DESIGN:

This case maker offers a full-length double rifle bag, so that is my first positive review. Some makers service shorter rifles, and that is fine. I just like to find rifle cases that will fit my hunting rifles and some of the precision rifles.

SUPPORT SYSTEM:

The rifle case has corner pockets that firmly hold the stock. Two heavy-duty Velcro straps hold the center sections of the guns in place. The great thing about adjustable straps is that they fit anything I can put in there. The depth of the case is barely long enough to fit an AR or other battle platform rifle with a magazine inserted. The easy way to fix that is to remove the magazine; everything fits like a champ.

PROTECTION BETWEEN RIFLES:

A full-size bottom-to-side and side-to-side dense foam padding separator is in between the rifles. I want this padding to be a little thicker, but it is nice; it is full-size and dense, not squishy sponge-like foam. This will keep the guns from tearing each other up and possibly causing damage.

SCOPE-SAFE LINER:

Another padded liner is under or inside the zipper closure. This will keep my scopes from rubbing against the inside of the zipper. I don't know how much damage a zipper could do to a Vortex scope, but it will scratch the hell out of the finish, which will not happen with this soft case.

BACKPACK CARRY OPTION:

The case has a set of backpack straps on the side to help carry it when fully loaded. This is heavy, with two rifles, some ammo, and a few magazines loaded for a range day. I don't know anyone who backpacks a rifle to the field for hunting, but if anyone does that, this one will be a great fit.
