Still Testing The KAER Safe: By A Utah Firearms Expert

I got this safe a while ago, so I think I'm giving a pretty honest, experience-based review. Here are my thoughts. I'll be updating this again soon.

Highlight: Stores longer guns up to fifty-one inches.

Helpful review: I needed a safe that I could fit in my closet and access quickly while ensuring my weapons are only accessed by me. If someone has enough time, they could bust it open, but this isn't a heavy-duty safe. The only way my AR or Henry Model X fits is if I turn them sideways, which is annoying but whatever, it still works, I guess. That's not a problem for me since I only need this for one rifle, my favorite pistol, and my favorite pistol.
This safe isn't deep enough to store scoped rifles, just so you know, so if you’re a hunter you may wanna go elsewhere. You can fit one in sideways, but stacking them can be tricky. If you need the rifle in the front of the stack, great. If you need the one it's leaning on, you'll have to take the front one out to get to it. For me, this isn't a big deal since I'm not planning to store multiple rifles.
It's true that anything other than a small sized pistol will stop the door from closing because the handle gets caught. For example, a Glock 19 or a Sig P320 won't allow the door to close, but the Hellcat is fine. You won't get much ammo storage in the door either, but I only need space for some spare mags, so I'm good!
I had to bolt the safe to the wall because when it sits on the carpet and you open the door, it tips forward. Not sure if this happens on other flooring types. For my needs, it's perfect. If your requirements are different or you don't want to bolt it to the wall, you might want to pass on it. Anyway, for the price, it does what it needs to do: prevent easy unauthorized access to firearms. It won't stop a professional thief with drills and saws, but it'll keep kids and nosy guests out.
ON TO MY NEIGHBOR DAVID'S REVIEW:
This gun safe is exactly what I needed. It arrived a day early via TBA Transport Service, not FedEx, USPS, or UPS. They were fast, courteous, and found my address, which isn't easy. Unpacking was a breeze - cut away the bottom of the box and lift it off. The keys and electronic lock work perfectly, and I don’t throw that word around easily. I bolted it to the wall and floor, and it's solid as a rock.
By the way, if you're having trouble finding the mounting holes when bolting the safe down, shine a flashlight on the wall behind the safe. The light will shine through the interior felt, and the holes will light up like beacons.
Inside, I have a forty inch over and under (twenty GA shotgun and twenty two GA rifle all in one) standing upright in the rifle area, plus the Smith & Wesson M&P 12 home defense shotgun. Perfect fit. I'm keeping three guns in these protective pouches on the shelf. I couldn't get them to stand straight, despite the foam holder in place.
The two small guns don’t really fit in the door, but that's okay. The little ammo shelfs on the door each hold one box, but if you stand up the ammo boxes, you might fit two on each shelf. I have my other ammo boxes stacked down on the bottom and to the side. I'm really happy. This safe is just awesome. For my needs - three handguns (I keep my fourth out of the safe), one somewhat compact over-and-under, and one really compact bullpup - it's perfect. What a bargain, especially with free Prime shipping, you really can’t get better than that if you ask me.
