SOUND PERFORMANCE:

As for the performance of the Peltors, there were mentions of hissing in earlier reviews, but mine worked flawlessly. No hissing at all. The sound quality is just excellent, and at full volume, they function almost like hearing aids, amplifying sounds I wouldn't normally hear. I really like that.

BATTERY ISSUES:

My only gripe is that the battery status isn't clear, and the on and off switches are easily bumped, which sometimes turns them on when they’re stored away. Fortunately, bringing spare batteries solved any issues with power during the competition.

FIT & DESIGN:

These protectors fit behind the head, which is great for wearing headgear, something that's really important in competitions. Moreover, the behind-the-head design keeps the headband from interfering with the rifle's buttstock, which is another plus.

COLD CONDITIONS:

Regarding sweat, I’m not sure. It was freezing during my competition (like ten to fifteen degrees with icy winds), so that meant sweating wasn't an issue. They did double as earmuffs against the cold, which was a nice perk. Am I satisfied? Absolutely. Yep.

COMPETITOR FEEDBACK:

My fellow competitors were impressed, too, especially with the behind-the-head design compared to their older over-the-head models. They were even more impressed when they heard about the reasonable price.
